Affordable Community Classes for just £3 per session – View sessions
Welcome to Morrisso Health
Working together to improve health and wellbeing in our local communities.
Morrisso Health supports health and wellbeing across Greater Manchester, with a focus on North Manchester communities such as Blackley, Charlestown, Harpurhey and Moston.
We work across the city region delivering practical, accessible activities that help people stay active, connected and confident. Although we support communities across Greater Manchester, our roots are in North Manchester and we continue to invest our time and energy back into the areas that shaped us.
Our aim is to change the way people view health and wellbeing. We want to improve access to activities that help people build strength, mobility and confidence, especially for those who feel traditional exercise is not for them.
We focus on simple, non medical approaches that are often overlooked but make a real difference to everyday life.
Classes cost just £3 per session, unless advertised as free through separate funding — this donation helps us keep these sessions running and available to the community.
Our Story
Morrisso Health was founded by Kathy Morrison, a working mum from Blackley, who saw first hand how difficult it can be for people to stay active after illness or injury.
It began after Kathy trained as a chair based exercise instructor through The Chatterbox Project and saw how a fall changed her own Nan’s health, confidence and independence.
Her Nan gradually became less mobile and more isolated over time. Kathy realised that even when services like PARS and Buzz were available, people still needed ongoing community support from instructors who understood local needs and were trained to work with older adults and people with long-term conditions.
With support from Yes Manchester, Kathy retrained, completed business training and secured funding to start Morrisso Health. What began with one instructor has grown into a small team of four local instructors who all share the same passion for helping people feel more confident, connected and supported.
“Exercise isn’t one-size-fits-all. To make a real difference, we need instructors who understand our communities and the barriers people face.”

How We Work
Some people find exercise difficult or feel it is not meant for them. They might feel unsure, anxious or worried about keeping up. We want everyone to feel welcome, supported and safe, no matter their age or health.
Community based activities can make a big difference to people’s physical and mental wellbeing.
The challenge is that many programmes stop when short term funding ends, which can leave people without support.
Morrisso Health helps fill this gap.
We run friendly, accessible sessions in places people already know, such as community centres, care homes, workplaces and private homes.
This makes it easier for people to join in close to where they live.
Our instructors understand the challenges that come with long term conditions, pain, loneliness or a loss of confidence.
We focus on helping people build strength, feel more confident and stay connected, one step at a time.
